California Community Colleges Initiative for Egypt (CA-CCI Egypt)
California ETEC is working with the Foundation for California Community Colleges and the California Community
Colleges Chancellors Office to manage the California Community Colleges Initiative for Egypt (CA-CCI Egypt). This
multi-year program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs,
provides support to young Egyptian men and women who will spend one year studying at community colleges
in California. The students are working to earn a vocational certificate, and will participate in a wide array of cultural,
civic and extracurricular activities. The students who were selected for this program expressed interest in understanding
our country and our culture better, in addition to advancing their skills. At the end of the program, the students
will return to Egypt to contribute to the development of their country by sharing their experiences, and maintaining
connections back to the U.S
